Increased availability of digital pathological images creates new opportunities for the computer-aided analysis, diagnosis and prognosis. This rapidly growing area of research brings together several experts in clinical and pre-clinical applications and evaluation methodologies, novel imaging and fusion techniques. In this talk, a brief history and a general overview of the Histopathological Image Analysis (HIMA) workshop will be presented.
